A Double header weekend at the China Chengdu Elite Racing Festival
At the 2016 season, BG was the promoter and organizer for the China Chengdu Circuit’s S.W Elite Racing Festival’s SBK Championship and also the China Kawasaki Ninja 250 Cup, while the Ninja Cup was held at Shanghai and Guangdong, and on the 26-27/11/16 weekend is the last Round at the Chengdu Circuit, and the same was the 4th and last round of the Chengdu S.W. Elite Racing Festival’s SBK Championship.
The Ninja Cup has been picking up its popularities as each Round goes and by the time the event get to Chengdu, there were 20 entries making it the biggest number of entries for the season.
Due to the big number of entries and also BG has our Beijing member also coming to Race the SBK event in Chengdu, the BG full tech team has to arrived to Chengdu on the Tue last week so to prepare for the vast amount of work to prep 20 Ninja bikes.
Weather forecast on the week Monday claimed there was rain over the race weekend and a low temp of around 7* which worries everyone, but thankfully, by Friday, despite the low temperature, the sky clears up and there were good sun on Sat and Sunday so a warmer track temperature allow everyone to race in a more secured condition.
The Sat Qualifying and Sunday main race was great affair as 20 Ninja bikes race along with auite a few close quarter battles especially among the lead and 2nd group of riders..
The Chengdu S.W.Elite SBK race was also a close fought affair, with the still low ground temperature and the big powers from the Super Sport and SBKs’ , so all riders has to tread very carefully when lean over but still trying to be smooth and fast.
The Chengdu races has attracted more and more riders from China’s most populated S.W inland region that includes Sichuan, Chongqing, Kunming, Guizhou and Guangxi provinces, our influences has spread to many biking communities in the region and with more new Circuits opening up in Chongqing and Guiyang cities, Motorsport will for sure pick up in the next couple of years and BG already has our mark in the region and will support further Motorcycle sport and technical knowhow to the communities.
We’d like to thank everyone at the Chengdu International Circuit for all the hard work and support over the last years as our partner and also all Teams and Racers from Chengdu and other regions of China for a great 2016 season.
