BG at the 2016 China Motorcycle Expo - CIMA
China’s most important Motorcycle Fair Is held once every 2 years at China’s biggest Motorcycle manufacturing region of Chongqing, the ex Capital of Sichuan Province.
There are 3 major Motorcycle manufacturing base in China with Chongqing being the biggest, then there is the Guangdong and Shanghai region, together, they produced over 20 mil motorcycle each year.
Of all the Motorcycle manufacturers in China, The Grand River Group with their own Brand “Haojue” and also their JV with Suzuki is the biggest single manufacturer in China with a annual production of close to 3 mil Motorcycle per year, But due to China’s restrictions of Motorcycle usage in over 200 major cities in the country, so close to all manufacturers only produce small capacity motorcycle up to 150 cc as these are the biggest sellers in all the Rural areas of China small townships and remote regions.
The Chongqing CIMA Motorcycle Expo is most important for many China’s manufacturers as this is the time once every 2 years for them to get most of their important dealerships from allover the Country to get together and present to them their new range of motorcycle to be launched and also to get to know the companys’ new directions.
BG, with our many years of partnership with Haojue – Suzuki, has been operating our Pro Stunt shows and Advance Riding training for Haojue-Suzuki in the past many CIMA events and everyone of these events has been great success and attracted big publicity and Media coverage for Haojue-Suzuki.
So in 2016, the BG Pro Stunt and Training Team again supported Haojue-Suzuki in operating again a Pro Stunt show outside the Chongqing Exhibition Center’s Open Court and also to gavea advance riding training to over 50 lucky Suzuki users from dealers allover the Country.
The 2016 CIMA was a much bigger event then previous years and there are many Apparel, accessories suppliers from Domestic and imports attending the event.
As usual Haojue-Suzuki operates the biggest exhibition pavilion with Honda right next to it, then there are many other China names with Zongshen and Chunfeng having also some of the biggest product range exhibited.
The BG team arrived at the show on Tue and started to prepare for the show, Our Expat Stunt Pro Dave Mckenna flew from Australia all the way to Chongqing partnered with our China Top Stunt Pro Zhouwei who is a BG contracted Stunt pro that performed at every Zhuhai Circuit’s Pan Delta Racing Festival.
The Exhibiton started on Thursday 20th Oct till Sunday 23th, and with the 1st day’s stunt show, this has drawn huge number of spectators and the crowd was fully entertained with our 2 BG Stunt Pro on the newly to be launched Suzuki GSX250R bike.
Being the biggest Bike manufacturer in China, Haojue-Suzuki also has the biggest number of dealerships of close to a staggering 10,000 Main and Sub-dealers. At the Chongqing Expo, Haojue-Suzuki invited over 1500 of their major dealers from all over the Country to attend the event especially at the New bike Launching Gala on Friday evening, and BG team was invited as the guest of honor and the grand hall of over 2000 dealerships is quite a scene to behold.
Sat is the BG Group training event for the day. A fleet of the new Suzuki GSX250R was lined up ready for the students to test ride after the classroom sessions.
The Classroom session was conducted by BG’s Steven and Zhangbo, then 4 of the BG instructors take turns to take student on their bike to show them various riding techniques and correct lines in corners, and with over 50 students and everyone was riding to their delights, the day has gone by very fast and the whole event ended in another Banquet after and all the students come and thankthe BG team for a great lessons learnt.
The Motorcycle scene in China has been slowly changing in the last 2-3 years with MORE and MORE people coming into Big capacity motorcycles, but with the extremely limited knowledge how to ride a 600-1600cc bikes, there has been many unfortunate incidents so that the need of getting new riders to progress slowly from riding a China made small bike to a bigger capacity motorcycle is extremely important
That is why the 250 Class has been growing very fast due to they’re much better equipped then all the smaller China made bikes and also easier to control so that the 250 cc bikes has been selling extremely well in the last couple of years with Kawasaki’s Ninja 250 being the best in the market.
In 2015, BG has been partnered with Kawasaki to operate their Ninja 250 CUP Championships in various Circuits in China and has rec’d great review and entries and we’re looking forward for a much bigger turn out for the new 2017 season.
Haoju-Suzuki, being the biggest Name in the market, is ready to go into the bigger capacity and higher spec Motorcycle market with their GSX250R and also the new Adventure bike in DL 250. We’re looking forward to see Suzuki in the Motorsport arena in China hopefully as early as 2017 season.
