A highly successful 2019 Hong Kong Motorcycle Fair Despite the Dire situation
As most of the world would have known by now that for the past 4 months, Hong Kong has gone through the most turmoil Civil unrest ever in the colony. There were demonstration allover the Colony, many accompanied with serious Violent act from many of the die hard protestors, this has cost Hong Kong dearly as the economy and society stableness has suffered tremendously affecting most of Hong Kong’s normal citizen’s daily lifes.
So when come the date : 20 Oct,2019 of the 2019 HK Motorcycle Fair, We are extremely nervous about attending or not, BUT due to the close relationship with the organizer and also wanting to be present at the event despite the unknown factors and no of visitors. So on Sunday morning 7.00 am, the BG staffs was at the site erecting the BG booth and arrange all the display racks and products
The biggest surprised with this 2019 fair as compared to previous years is that, NONE of the Motorcycle dealerships and some of popular motorcycle product brands are also no show.. Fortunately, there were still a good number of Bike clubs, bike products sellers especially in the area of Helmets, Lubricants, Bike cleaning products and BG with the only high performance products display in the Fair.
As expected, the morning was quiet with few visitors, a huge contrast to the previous years, but by noon time, the Biker crowds started to arrived and the afternoon was getting better and better and more bikers started to arrived Many people came to the BG stands as attracted by our many world’s top high performance product display and many wanted to buy on the Spot, but due to this is a non profit Fair, so we can only get our buyers to come to the BG shop during the coming week.
The surveyed numbers of visitors on Sunday was close to 30,000 which is much better then expected and during the day, News coming in was that there were bad violent demonstrations over on Kowloon side and we’re so lucky that at Hong Kong Island Central side,we’re spared with any incidents and the Show ended peacefully.
We don’t know how long this Hong Kong Civil disaster is going to go on, but for us, our retail business has dropped over 50% as none of the bikers wanted to come out after work and many has loss their job or worried about their coming future so every one was budgeting waiting for this disaster to end as soon as possible.
We hope and wish this craziness will be over v.v. soon, so everyone can go back to their normal life.
